Here you will find a prophetic word of the Lord at the beginning of each calendar year to bless you and as a help to confirm your faith in Christ...
In 2012, John 20:12 - Behold the Mercyseat
The City Current... speaking a word in season
Though Jesus was the Son of God by the Spirit, He was born like you and I in the form of a man, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God and to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. He understands us and has compassion on us, having been put to the test in all points like as we are yet without sin. And this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God and is expecting until His enemies be made His footstool. This man, Who died and rose again for us, is the same one Who sits upon the Throne and is our Mercyseat. The Kingdom is being renewed; Behold the Mercyseat!

THE NEW COVENANT MERCYSEAT John 20:12 And(Mary Magdalene) seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. In her 3rd (3rd day) visit to the tomb Mary Magdalene finally beholds the mercyseat from which flows all kingdom authority. God has put Jesus on exhibition as the Mercyseat (Rom 3:25), and beneath it is the Ark of His Presence containing the hidden manna (the Word of God), the rod of His Priesthood, and the (new) covenant agreement. |
Our Lord Jesus was taken from among men and was ordained as High Priest for men in things pertaining to God. Therefore He is touched by the feeling of our infirmities, is merciful to our unrighteousness, has compassion on our ignorance and at anytime we may be out of the way.
Throughout His earthly ministry it is recorded that Jesus was moved with compassion and then His grace or gifts would flow. Grace by itself is a gift without emotion, but mercy is His compassion, tender kindnesses and feeling towards us. Grace cannot be earned, it is gifted because He is full of mercy. Grace has appeared from the mercyseat.
In John 20:12 Mary typifies the church and her progressive revelation of Christ. In Mary's 1st visit to the tomb she beheld the burial of the body of Jesus. This was the Feast of Passover unto her. In her 2nd visit to the tomb she saw the angel of the Lord. This was Pentecost unto her. In her third and final visit to the tomb she beholds the mercyseat. The 3rd day feast is Tabernacles. The mercyseat is the lid of the ark of the covenant which is found in The Most Holy Place. This is where Jesus is found as He is, King and Priest seated on and as the Mercyseat. And before He was crucified, Jesus prayed in the garden saying, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory. So let us go unto His throne, in the Most Holy Place, and we will obtain mercy and find the grace (forgiveness, faith, restoration, spiritual gifts, answers, ability, favour and blessing) we need for ourselves and for others, for faithful is He Who called us and Who will also do it.
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
The name "Magdalene" declares "the pulpit" upon which the feet of the Master stands and speaks His Word. To His church He is revealing Himself as the mercyseat and will commune with us in the midst of it between the two cherubims of glory. By the church He will express Himself in Kingdom authority from the mercyseat as the merciful and faithful High Priest after the order of Melchisedec. He is the Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin.
Heb 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this
is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the
heavens;
Heb 8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord
pitched, and not man.

THE OLD COVENANT MERCYSEAT UPON THE ARK OF THE COVENANT Heb 9:4 ... the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; Heb 9:5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat... |
